Its Thanksgiving (HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE, except for Vinh cause he’s gay and doesn’t deserve it), so to ‘celebrate’ I think I’m going to talk about by sabre team brothers and sisters (even though I’m no longer in the team) all of which I am very thankful to have met. Of course I’m missing some and I’m listing it in no particular order (actually, kinda by year) (please excuse any typos)

Marc Angeles - For the longest time I thought it was spelled ‘Mark’ so oppsies. He’s my first commander and a very good one. There’s a reason why we sweeped Golden Bear and he’s that reason. I liked how he was strict in practice and chill after practice. He’d laugh at all of my jokes and even when I was not joking he’d still laugh at me. We would have middle finger contests and of course I’d win because I’m so darn creative. To this day he remains one of my role models for his enormous passion and leadership. If Sabre Team was a car, he’d be the engine.

Stephanie Guinto - My Sabre Team SISTER. It was cool getting to know her because I’d never think I’d befriend someone like her ever. One of her lines still resonates in me today; “Don’t take shit from anyone, not even me”. She wasn’t the first girl in Sabre Team because she was weak, in fact she’s probably got more testosterone than the average guy probably. We oddly formed a sister-sister relationship together which I miss now that she’s gone to continue her life somewhere else. If Sabre Team was a car, she’d be the front bumper.

Matthew Edwards - My black team sergeant. During my first year he scared the fuck out of me. He was a superb sergeant who complemented Marc’s style of commanding. He sacrificed so much of his time and money on Sabre Team and I really think he should get more credit for that. Without him, I’m sure our year would have fallen into some shit condition where we would be all cocky and inept at learning the routine. If Sabre Team was a car, he’d be the steering wheel.

Rufo Pasana - I almost forgot about him. He’s the quiet, semi-intellectual member of the team (I say that because I am of course, smarter :)). Perhaps more so than Matt, he contributed to Sabre Team in a multitude of ways; Giving the team money when we asked him, giving us rides wherever when we needed them, giving us free driving-school classes when he asked :D. When his lung collapse all of RO felt as if our lungs collapsed with it. Quiet but vital to our team, Rufo is hard to please but this also gives him high goals. He pushed us to our limit not by yelling or getting angry, but by compromising and understanding, something no other commander before him could say they did. If Sabre Team was a car, he’d be the seat belts (or maybe the driver).

Roland Olaes - I ALMOST FORGOT HIM TOO. Sharp, more-so in his movements than his mind. Also, he’s really, really loud. He’d often laugh at my stupidity and awkwardness. In general he is a logical person who is both confident and caring, but his raptor sound is just not impressive to me. He is a great leader as evident in his role as wing commander for 2008 and he is also a true Sabre Team brother even though he prioritizes other things over Sabre Team sometimes. If Sabre Team was a car, he’d of course be the horn that gets everyone’s attention.

Manuel Imbuido - The humorous one. He’s funny but also ~~sometimes~~ too verbose if you ask me. Kinda like a bear, not the one that will eat you with his claws, more like Winnie the Pooh or something. He’s a hard worker when he puts his mind to it and he’s a really chill and cool person in and out of practice. His size a powerful voice may intimidate you at first (or maybe not), but once you get to know him, he’s a really good guy who you can talk to for hours. If Sabre Team was a car, he’d be the two fluffy red dice hanging from your rear-view mirror.

Jhunard Farin - Quite the moral booster for when the team is sad or in a clinch. Jhunard may be the funniest person I’ve personally been with on the team. His dancing however unrelated to practice reminded us why we were in the team in the first place, to have fun (yeah, I know that sounds cheesy). Besides this he is also a really good leader. Sometimes he can’t control his actions but that just shows much the team really means to him. If Sabre Team was a car, he’d be the hula girl bobbling with her ukulele on the dashboard.

Kevin Bui - The fighter of the team full of energy and pride. One of the most intimidating people I’ve ever had the luck to have been in the team with. I’m even luckier to have only been inspected by him once. Like a big brother, he would stick up for you against anything. One of the most down and admirable people I have ever met. You can say he had too much pride, so much so that the team could not satisfy him, so he left. BUT, he still is and will always be a brother to me. If Sabre Team was a car, he’d be the radio.

Jeffrey Hoang - A unique character with Sabre Team in his blood. He’s earnest and very nice to be around. Although his emotions may get the best of him sometimes, he always comes around to be the Jeff I’m sure we are all fond of. He usually keeps his problems to him self which shows how much he cares about everyone around him. Even when he’s hurting, he’ll be there for you when you’re hurting. He is very mannered at times but when he isn’t he’s usually funny and goofy. He can be considered an avid push-upper and can do A LOT in a short amount of time without tiring, crazy. If Sabre Team was a car, he’d be the highly eccentric spoiler.

Phillip Dublada - Very painful memories are associated with this guy. He constantly abused me as a first year both physically and mentally, but don’t worry, its not as bad as it sounds. A really goofy guy, but also a sincere one who is understanding deep inside. He’s always there to contribute to the team and he’s a nice guy to hangout with if you don’t want any weirdness. If Sabre Team was a car, he’d be the GPS that always seems to get you lost even when it has the best of intentions.

Nick Arms - “Let’s have ear-pussy sex”, just one of the many HILARIOUS sayings Nick Arms would’ve said if he still were in the team. Even though his year with us was short, he had such a positive impact for the team that I think he should still be on this list. First of all he’s white; second, he was just a really cool guy whose penis is colored ‘pearly-white’. I really do miss having him around but I still see him around the bowling alley sometimes so its all good. If Sabre Team was a car, he’d be the trunk filled with tons of random shit.

Jonathan Bui - King of the suicide eaters. Jonathan had to quit the team because he ripped an arm muscle or something which sucks but again he should be on this list because he’s still a brother to me. He is brave and can yell super loud at times. He’s chill and is often down to do anything including eating a mother-load of suicide wings of Callahan’s. Although we never hung out or talked much, I can still converse with him without it being in any way awkward. If Sabre Team was a car, he’d be the cup holders and arm-rest since hey, you still need those to have a car, don’t you?

Carina Supnet - My other Sabre Team sister and the second official girl ever in Sabre Team. She’s a very special person to me in many ways. Sometimes I think of her more of a sister to me than my actual sister because I relate to her more than any other person in the team. She unfortunately had to move to Florida which I heard is a crap state, but no matter where she goes whether it be Europe, Asia, or Australia, she’s still my sabre team sister, I’ll never forget her. No matter how much I make fun of her calling her a loser or a slut, I hope she still realizes she means a lot to me. Also, I’m smarter than her by a long shot. If Sabre Team was a car, she’d be the windows that lets the breeze in.

Ricky Inthavong - Probably the closest Sabre Team brother I have. We have a very weird brotherhood. We have this weird thing were whenever we’re walking together, we find a dead or crazy animal (crow, mouse, ferret). Although sometimes we may fight and disagree, I really couldn’t find that second grenade launcher partner if it wasn’t him. He’ll make mistakes, I’ll help him out, I’ll make mistakes, he’ll help me out, that’s what brothers do. If Sabre Team were a car, he’d be the the headlights guiding the way and showing the others cars just who the shit is.

Charles Guinto - My old routine partner. As partners we were really close (both literally and figuratively), we even made our own attention and parade rest that was the shit. We have this weird mind connection where sometimes we would both mess up but in the same way somehow. Charles is analytical and often states whatever is on his mind which is both good and bad depending on what he actually says. He likes to joke but can also be serious when you need him to be. When it comes to arguments inside the team, he’ll often act at the compromiser helping to solve the problem rather than making it worse. If Sabre Team was a car, he’d be the ever-important brake.

Jason Edejer - Jason is hella down for anything which is what makes him so cool. If anyone in the team in in trouble, he’ll definitely back them up no matter the consequences. His heart and passion is always with the team and he works hard to keep it strong. Again, if you’re sad and need someone to talk to or be there for you, he’s one of the people you can go to. He’s also really curious (which is a good thing), he actually want to learn about things as opposed to other lazy ignorant people out there. If Sabre Team was a car, he’d be the airbags that save you during a car crash.

Menji Chiem - A natural born leader and loser. Just how awkward can someone possibly be? Menji is the answer to that. We often get into stupid competitions like when we try to untie each other’s shoes (of course, I win all of them). To me he’s really Americanized (white) but that also gives him a confidence like no other. He gives our team a voice and is very proud to do so. Unlike most quiet people, he’ll stands up for what he believes in and goes out to get what he wants, this of course is what makes him such an awkward loser at times. If Sabre Team was a car, he’d be the gas pedal.

Bill Reed - Friendly, funny, and perverted. Bill is a very smart guy who lives for laughs. He likes being openly friendly to everyone. He also likes being really weird telling jokes than last for an hour or more. He’s good at cheering people up and listening to their problems, and he’s down for just about anything, and by anything I mean ANYTHING. Always a positive guy, it makes me sad that I can’t get to know him better since he’ll be graduating this year. If Sabre Team was a car, he’d be the glove-box compartment filled with weird stuff.

Godwin Cuevas - A pretty funny guy. He laughs at awkward stuff a lot but that makes him have horrible bearing. Anyways, it was nice having have met Godwin because of all the stupid things that happen. Although its Thanksgiving its already beginning to look a lot like Christmas. He has a cute doggy which helps make up for how lame he is. He’s also a nice person to just chill with when you have nothing else to do. If Sabre Team was a car, he’d be the gay Jack In The Box antenna ball.

Joseph Angeles - Random, weird, and twitchy. Sometimes he can be a little scary, like when we were on our way back from Golden Bear and I poked him when he was asleep and jumped up and stared at me then went back to sleep without ever being conscious. He’s understanding and always there if you need someone to talk to. He seems to like pleasing people, actually, it seems like he never wants to make anyone unhappy. He’ll make a lot of mini-sacrifices for people that he never gets credit for like when he walks Jeff home even if it means walking back to school by himself, plays cs with me even if it gets boring, and listening to people’s problems even when he has no time to. If Sabre Team was a car, he’d be the wheels that help control it.

Janelle Callao - My other other Sabre Team sister. She’s a really sweet girl who cares a lot about the team. She does so much for the team and offers so much more. She laughs at me for no reason at times which weirds me out and OH SHE’S BI, so yeah, watch out. Anyways, she’ll do a lot of things for the team showing how much she cares from making us cereal treats to getting us foreign chocolate bars. Like most others on this list, she’s someone you can go to if you need help on something. Also, her laugh is just so darn cute, it makes me laugh. If Sabre Team was a car, she’d be the gasoline.

Carlo Daganasol - A man of few words, if any. He rarely talks, but when he does, you can still hear that filipino accent of his. He’s really bright when it comes to school and I always see him studying so he must have some high goals to reach when he grows up. He also moves with the swiftness of a fox, rivaling Roland. He’s really cool since you can play around with him without him getting mad. His reactions to things is funny because its unexpected. He almost never messes up during practice which shows just how important the team is to him. If Sabre Team was a car, he’d be the windshield wipers that you never really notice until you really need them.

Alex Gonzales - A super chill guy who is seemingly in love with cars. It is clear that he doesn’t like messing up and that he always tries to correct his mistakes. That’s good since it shows that he really has strong emotions being on the team. His cast really hindered him from advancing in the routine last year but the fact that he’s still in the team shows just how much potential he has. Its a shame that I didn’t get to know him as well as I could have, but regardless, its nice to still be able to call him by brother. If Sabre Team was a car, he’d be the awesomely sick paint job, right nigguh?

Glenfordjay Farin - A really cool guy who has a strong passion for the team. I never really got to know him so its hard to talk about him. Anyways from the few conversations we did have, he seems like a really cool guy who wakes up really early in the mornings to eat breakfast. I’ve always wanted to get to know him and the other as of now second years, so maybe next year if I decide to join the team, I can writing more about what I think of Glen. If Sabre Team was a car, he’d be the gear shift.

This is my Sabre Team. These descriptions can never truly describe how amazing the team is. My words will never be articulate enough to give one the sense of how it feels to be in the team. Ya digg?
